Gaza is a giant prison run by Israel where the economy is purposefully kept on the brink of collapse. Everyone in Gaza is treated like cockroach scum by the IDF, including the women and children. IDF soldiers make life as miserable as possible for everyone there. And they wonder why rockets are shot off at Israel?

Don't mistake this as me saying Hamas is right to shoot off the rockets; they are not. But could it be that when you practically imprison the people and treat them like animals you create that much more hate against Israel? Does anyone doubt that if the living conditions were improved so people were not bankrupt, hungry and in constant fear that it would be a hell of a lot harder for Hamas to remain in power and recruit more terrorists?

The Palestinians could easily stop this bloodshed if the put down their weapons and accepted that Israel has a right to exist. Israel also does not have to run a terror prison camp (Gaza) and could at least have a tiny bit of compassion for the people.

So I have no sympathy for any of them. Neither side has respect for human life.

I really don't understand why the 2 different political factions in the US (and the western hemisphere in general) take their sides like they do. American liberals side with Palestinians, which commit genocide and break peace treaties all the time; American conservatives typically (not always) side with the Israeli government who also commits genocide and breaks treaties.

Why someone wants to take one side or the other is beyond me...I guess it amounts to how much ignorance/propaganda someone accumulated.

The dominant Israeli political party (Socialist) hasn't done any good, and why the US gives $$ to this country is beyond me. The various Palestinian groups are all radical Muslims hell-bent on doing their thing. Even more ridiculous is that American conservatives want to fund a government (Israel) which is philosophically opposite to their ideals (Marxist and anti-capitalist)...and the Democrat Party is more aligned with the Israeli Socialist party, yet, Democrats despise/hate Israel. I guess it's the religious nature of Israel that liberals hate?? I don't know.

This entire region and the problems afflicting it is just bizarre...there will never be peace in the middle east.
