100% correct. Several years ago a business associate was in town from Scotland. We got to talking about guns & crime here, and he thought the US was like the wild west still, to an extent. Said that's how things get portayed in the media. I told him about our laws here in TX, and that actually nobody wants to draw down, that doing so should be someone's last resort. It's about situational awareness and being able to remove yourself if something happens. If you can't, then you better shoot more accurately than the enemy. He was a bit shocked at that.

When I told him that I actually had a pistol on me, he really wasn't surprised. Our educational talk put him at ease. I asked him if he wanted to see it - the gun, lol - he said sure. My EDC is a Sig P938; unchambered the round, dropped the mag & handed it him. He walked away understanding that rat shit holes like Chicago and their gun violence are the exception, and that US is not some trigger happy, shoot 'em up country.

Actually, most of our population does not live in our large cities but in smaller towns, or ‘cities’, of less than 100,000 people. A little over a quarter of our population is in the large cities that people normally think of, like Detroit, Los Angeles, Chicago, NYC, etc…
