Extortionists should be hunted mercilessly. Law enforcement should put the highest priority on punishing this sort of crime. It steals peoples’ livelihoods and pulls in regular law abiding people into the cesspool criminal underworld, encompassing terroristic threats, theft, conspiracy, racketeering, assault, and murder, all in one crime. If police can’t stop it then local business owners should band together and end it the ‘self help’ way.
