This forgets to mention that they were actually the ones who called the police. One of their bikes was stolen and, if my memory serves me right, had located where it was and wanted to show the officers. With that info, it looks as if the boys are confused or annoyed at how the police reacted upon showing up, since they were the victims. But they got shot instead of getting help.
