I get it: homeboy wanted to die. What I don't get is traumatizing an innocent person in the process. Hope the trucker is alright, he didn't deserve this.

Many years ago I attempted suicide by running in front of a semi truck on the highway. I can't even begin to express the level of anguish and torment I was feeling at the time. I just wanted it to end. I wasn't thinking clearly, obviously. Depression and mental illness robs you of the capacity for rationale thought. Thank God the driver swerved and only clipped me. No one was injured except for me. It took almost a year before I could walk again. Once I had recovered from my depression I obtained a copy of the police report and sent the truck driver a letter thanking him for missing me and apologizing for what happened.

I did a search and there were only a few news articles about the incident. Both just mentioned that the interstate and exit in that area was closed off for investigation, and then reopened. No details on exactly what happened or names.

Also, something very similar just happened today in Irvine, California. Some dude jumped from a freeway overpass and was hit by a box truck as he was airborne.
