Re: Fuel Tanker Explodes Killing At Least 7 in Colombia
Steal verb gerund or present participle: stealing 1. take (another person's property) without permission or legal right and without intending to return it. None of those people owned the truck or the gasoline inside, therefore they were stealing.

Re: Fuel Tanker Explodes Killing At Least 7 in Colombia
God had nothing to do with this, it was just the result of a few physics phenomena: Gas was being scooped through the upper hatches of the overturned tanker and these guys spilled it to the ground as they were filling their gasoline containers, by the effects of gravity the gasoline flowed along the slopped terrain, due to it's physical properties, atmospheric pressure and temperature at sea level is not enough to keep gasoline in liquid form, so it emits vapors, as the liquid gasoline passed under the truck tire, the gasoline vapors mixed with air came in contact with a hot metallic surface, (the hot brakes as the truck driver must have had the brake pedal floored until the truck turned on its side), the vapors ignited and gasoline (being a flammable liquid) which entered spontaneous combustion burning up all those who were in direct contact with the spilled liquid. |

Re: Fuel Tanker Explodes Killing At Least 7 in Colombia
So if you toss a bottle on the ground, and I pick it up, I have stolen it? Why do dumb posters use the facepalm so much? If I drop a turkey and cheese Subway sandwich on the ground and walk away, you pick it up and have it for dinner, did you steal it? So you spill your nearly full can of Tecate on the ground, and my dog licks it up, did Fido steal it? You think in simple terms. For fun, one of the terms in your definitions gives the answer as to why it's not stealing. Are you smart enough to find it? Make a guess, or get an older boy to help you. I will let you know if you get it right. |

If you saw some small children playing with matches, gas, and fireworks, you would stop them unless you didn't like them. You are more merciful than god. Jesus could have used his magic to stop the fire.

Re: Fuel Tanker Explodes Killing At Least 7 in Colombia
wickedlara I believe you are failing to see the reality because you need to put it into context, so let's say: You are driving when suddenly your brakes fail as you enter a curve and your car goes to the side of the road (just like the tanker), your car overturns and part of your belongings are thrown out of the car but some of your belongings stay inside (like the gas that was in the tanker itself). Then people come and take away some of the suit cases, purse and your iPhone 10 that were ejected from your car as it was rolling, (because heck, they are on the side of the road to be found and kept, right?) then others get their hands inside your oveturned car (like the hands that were scooping the gas that remained inside the tanker) and take a laptop that was inside, some other garments, and stuff (Just because it's there, inside and overturned vehicle, tanker, car, truck or whatever, right?) I'll add a few of these: |

Re: Fuel Tanker Explodes Killing At Least 7 in Colombia
Sorry, if you find and take property of a certain value, as set by the state, you are obligated to turn it in. The value is usually in the hundreds of dollars. Do you see how I addressed your post? Your ignored mine. I have feelings, you know. The key is in the value of the property. My example answers your point. The property in your example was of great value. If I pick it up from the ground, I have to turn it in or send it to you. You understand the difference. It's all in the value of the product. Your spilt Tecate had no real value, so my dog didn't steal it. If it had been your Rolex, not a fake one, I have to return it or turn it in to the police. Does five gallons of split gas have any value? Please, save your face palms for someone who can appreciate them I like the laughing one. |
