Fridge Explosion at Restaurant Kitchen Kills a Cook

India, A refrigerator in the kitchen of a Hotel in Gujarat suddenly exploded on June 3 while many workers were on duty in the kitchen.

S. 20 years old, a cook who had only been working at the hotel for some while, was standing with his back to the refrigerator at the time and did not have time to react when the explosion occurred.

Debris from the explosion hit his head hard, causing him to fall unconscious at the scene. Colleagues who witnessed the incident immediately took him to the hospital, but he did not survive and was confirmed dead from severe injuries.

Initial police investigations found that the explosion was likely caused by a refrigerant tank in the refrigerator. A case has been filed and further investigations are ongoing.

His body has undergone an autopsy and has been handed over to his family for burial arrangements.

The victim was the eldest child in his family and had just taken over the responsibility of supporting his family after his father's death. He got the job at the hotel through a family connection.

As the eldest son, he took on the heavy burden of supporting his grieving family. He traveled from Rajasthan to Rajkot to find employment during his summer vacation, joining his cousin brother, R.B.V, who was already working at the establishment.

Initial reports wrote he had been at the job between one to seven months when the tragedy occurred.
