Four Men Electrocuted - One Dead - Whilst Removing Temporary Shed
Surprise, surprise, it happened in India (Hyderabad, to be exact). Four men - the unaptly-named Lucky Gaikwad, Santosh, and two unidentified men - were removing a temporary shed which had been built for a wedding. They were busy adjusting a metal structure when they suddenly suffered a severe electric shock, sending them all crashing to the ground. Lucky died, while two men suffered serious injuries. (The news report I found mentioned only three.) This was the ninth reported case of death due to electrocution in Hyderabad within the week. |

Lucky cow door  (The Marathi historian D.S. Parasnis and his co-author, the British Raj High Court judge, C.A. Kincaid of colonial-era India, wrote in 1908 that the origin of the name Gaikwad is a combination of two Marathi words. In Marathi: gai means cow and kavad means small door. Gaekwad (or gaikwad) denotes cow door.) Should have stayed with cow doors instead of wedding sheds. |
