Re: Found in the Dead Frog Position

This may sound ignorant, but at what point after death would the body be this rigid and how long does it last? I understand that the stiffness goes away at some point?

Nice post.

Nice question; it does go away to some point.
How long depends on a lot of variables. Here's a quote from a nice book "In general, high environmental temperature will accelerate the onset, whereas low ambient temperatures have the opposite effect. The duration of rigidity is extended in dry cold conditions. Although the details of the relaxation process are not clear, it is generally accepted that the dissolution of rigidity is associated with early decomposition or denaturisation of muscle."

Re: Found in the Dead Frog Position

Rigor mortis always fascinates me. What was that guy's last thought before the lights went out?

Re: Found in the Dead Frog Position

Probably had a heart attack while praying.
Never mind. I see someone already thought of that.
Now I'll have to think of something else, and my head will hurt.

And it's ALL HIS FAULT! He not only dies, he causes ME trouble!

Re: Found in the Dead Frog Position

My friend overdosed and died in that same position. He pushed the plunger and collapsed on himself. I found his body after he’d been there awhile. I couldn’t bring myself to take a picture of respect for his family but I know that fucker wanted me to post it here. He was selfish fucking asshole that wanted to hurt his family. I wasn’t going to help him do that. I sure do miss that asshole.

Re: Found in the Dead Frog Position

See if you know that you about to die have some fun with family members. Try to get in some impossible position, have people ask questions and for the love of God make sure you record it
