I had a coworker call me like minutes after I walked in the door and he asked if I could come over to his house. When I got there he was standing out front and asked me if he could show me something. So we walked in his apartment and when we got to his kitchen - in the corner of the ceiling there was a grayish green stain starting to run down his wall and there was a faint stench that got stronger the closer you got to it. The unmistakeable smell was his neighbor that lived above him who we would shortly after learn had passed some time before. He said there had been a funny smell for 2 days and then on the 3rd day the stain appeared. My friend ended up packing a suitcase and went to an Extended Stay for a week while they "dealt" with cleanup. The next day at work he's telling everyone about what happened and I asked him why of all people he called me. He said "you were in the military and shot people so I figured you'd know if it was a dead person". I told him that although he was right but that I didn't hang out with them till they decomposed like that.  |
