The cop could have at least given the dog a chance to show its intentions before pulling the trigger. I mean, sure, have your gun pointed if you think it may be necessary, but... He didn't even hesitate! Completely unnecessary, IMHO. On the other hand, no matter how big or small or aggressive or docile your dog is, be a responsible pet owner and restrain your animal before opening the door! Especially if you own a breed that society gets all hyped up about. Protect your animal and be responsible for it! |

If the police officer was trained in animal compassion...he was aware that the pitbull breed is very unpredictable and only did what he did to preserve life & limb. Looks like it was a younger dog...perhaps a puppy still? *********NOTE2SELF************* Put my pitbull out back before answering the door. RIP doggy. |
