I suppose animal rights advocates wont like this one. I say deadly force was justifiable however dude DID have on boots. I would have tried kicking the dog away first. Owners definitely deserve assault charges.

Has anyone here ever met a friendly dog that jumps on you? There is in no way whatsoever a way to tell that dog was attacking. My pitbull is a sweetheart and would never hurt anyone but he might jump out the door like that and try to lick someones face. You're all trained dogs by the media to be saying this shit about pitbulls. The officer blew that dog away without giving it a chance. You're all idiots. God forbid he takes one bite to the ankle AND THEN SHOOT. But No. He saw the dog trying to get to him so he killed it immediatly? Not justified whatsoever to kill someones family member that quickly without hesitation. Like i said my dog could certainly do something EXACTLY like that but i 100% GURANTEE he would never hurt anyone. Knocks on there door to tell them their car is open and immediatley kill their dog when he comes outside? Justified? Media frenzied losers. You're all gullable idiots.

Everyone here acting like they know these people trained their dog to attack anyone at the door? How insanely presumtuous is that? It makes a whole lot more sense that they know their dog is friendly therefore they dont hold it back if someones knocking at their door? Everyone here assuming they trained the dog to attack people so thats why its justified? lmao. Clueless uninformed people.

For those of us who have experience with pits, this makes total sense. Friends of mine will always be conscious of holding the dog back when opening the door. If I had my sidearm on when one ran out the door at me, hell yes I'm shooting. No pit is charging me without me thinking it wants to tear into me. He was in an "oh shit" moment and did what anybody would have done. It's not a situation stop and pet, kill.
