Floater Found in Swamp Turns Out to Be a Missing 74 Year Old Woman
The identity of the body of a woman wearing a robe found face down in the middle of a swamp in Indonesia this morning has finally been revealed. The victim is known as Neneng S. (74 years old), a local resident. The victim had left the house three days prior and had not returned. The family stated that the victim was elderly and often forgetful and suffered from dementia. Police found no signs of violence on the victim's body. Preliminary suspicions are that the victim slipped and fell into the swamp, unable to escape. The location where the body was found was known to be approximately 180 centimeters deep, with muddy ground that easily collapses when stepped on. Based on the family's agreement, the victim will not undergo an autopsy and the body will be buried immediately. The family accepts this incident as a tragedy and fate. |

I guess they didn't inquire too deeply into the car batteries tied around her neck and waist. |

The forensic team would have taken note of them, but that's just for starters.

When I was at the Colombian School of Forensic Science and Plumbing, we missed stuff like that ALL THE TIME! Like determining that someone who had 8 shots to the back, had committed suicide. Our instructors would just shake their heads. And then wholeheartedly agree with us! We had contests where the person who came up with the best analysis each week, got free drinks at the bar on Fridays. For example, diagnosing a dead person as "Exceptionally Lazy". |
