Flash Flood Makes People Getting Buried Under Debris
West Sumatra. A flash flood occured yesterday morning after rain continued to pour in the area until the afternoon making homes collapse. Also dozens of vehicles were buried under flood debris, consisting of four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles. In addition, several houses suffered minor to moderate damage. This happened because the flash flood brought a lot of wood debris ranging from medium to large sizes. The position of this newly built housing area is not close to the riverbank, but due to the high intensity and long duration of rainfall, the flash flood swept through this area. West Sumatra Police told that 4 people were found dead so far. |
