Actually, this is a really good point, and a very common misunderstanding of the situation over there. How can you ever win when there is no one to sign a treaty with or sue for peace? They see this as Jihad and even if Iraq becomes a stable democracy we will still have to fight the Jihadists. They are fighting for a religious goal, not a political one. Even now as we debate this, the insurgency is moving the battleground to Pakistan. The borders Britain drew on a map mean little to them, however, they do affect the U.S. and their ability to track and kill the insurgents.
