A serious accident on RN-023, between the cities of Santa Cruz and Coronel Ezequiel, resulted in the death of five people and left three others injured on the afternoon of this Friday (9).

According to the driver’s account, he lost control of the truck while making a turn. Some of the victims were traveling on top of the leather cargo in the vehicle’s truck bed.

According to the State Highway Police, at least eight people were in the truck that fell off the embankment. The vehicle, which was transporting a leather load, flipped over, and six victims who were riding on the cargo were thrown from the truck. Some passengers had their bodies severed by the metal guardrail.

Images from security cameras in nearby cities captured moments before the accident, showing six men traveling without any safety measures on the truck's cargo. The only survivor among the six was taken to hospital in critical condition.
