A very impactful video, for sure. David looks very much like one of my best friends and I'm sure I would have liked him if I met him. Unfortunately, he more than the van operator shoulders the majority of the blame for this accident as his speed left him with no opportunity to maneuver. It was a righteous thing his mother did, sharing this video. Hopefully, it will offer bike riders out there some pause when they think of tearing down a secondary road at 100 MPH. Really, nothing good can come from this.

You're joking right? If he'd been riding an appropriate speed he would not be dead. He came upon that intersection so fast the car never had a chance to see him. I've had the misfortune of having a stupid motorcyclist without a helmet done up, speeding and overtaking on the wrong side hit the car I was in and die on the road in front of us. My mum was the driver and she's had to live with that ever since. Riders need to stop being idiots on the road, and drivers need to look twice.

Fuck off asshole. There are a lot of shit drivers about but bikers on high performance machines are a danger. They travel too fast and react to slowly. The road here is a national speed limit or limited to 50mph and he was bombing it way over that limit. The driver at that junction probably didn't see him at all because the bike is small and is travelling too fast. Maybe you assholes should be put in a car and taught the way of the road before going on a bike. |

Sick and tired of the think bike brigade - how about you guys think other road users for a change. Weaving in and out of traffic, passing on wrong side and stupid speeds ( not to mention the donuts who think wheelieing off the lights is cool,) all reasons these things happen but it almost always 'oh it must be the car drivers fault not seeing him'. Their are idiots in all forms of transport but at the end of the day this guy was killed by his own stupidity - speeding!
