What I don't completely understand as regards fire squads is why the executionees don't get bullets into their heads straight away. What sense does it make to shoot them into chests first? But it would be possible to formulate it also more generally - why the fuck so few executions aim to quickly destroy brains of the executionees? Cattle or pigs, when slaughtered, have that privilege. When a man is to be executed, various traditions usually order to first destroy anything else but the brain. Has anyone any non-banal explanations for this unwilingness to immediately destroy human brain in the most of executions of humans?
