Never saw the attraction with blowing off firecrackers. Every year, story after story of someone losing fingers with an M80 or losing an eye playing a genius stunt, like sword fights with roman candles. Lucky for me I'm a pussy when it comes to anything that explodes. I don't have to unzip my fly to count to 10.

When I was a kid in the 1970's fireworks were illegal in Illinois and we loved fireworks as kids more than we love women, money or drugs as adults. Pure pyrotechnic joy, flames, colors, smoke, explosions. No hangover from a gross of bottle rockets or a brick of Thunder Bombs.
