Looks like the firefighter leaped up the last few steps just to catch her in the first place. It's kind of her own fault for not waiting until he was there to help her out onto the ladder.

very sad..firefighter did his utmost..RIP to the woman..she was black fro the smoke, soot..its bloody awful what can happen in life

easy to say her fault but the agony from the intense heat must have been to great for her..she couldn't take it anymore and jumped for the ladder
