Firefighter on His Way Home to Sick Daughter Beaten to Death by a Mob
India, The demand for justice grows loud over the mob lynching of firefighter B. D, 26 on November 21, 2020. The victom took leave to go home to his wife and daughter as his daughter, studying at a nursery school, had fallen sick and he wanted to be by her side. On his way, his bike was allegedly stopped by a mob of protesters who were protesting the Bru Resettlement pact. The victim was attacked by people from all sides. He later died of his injuries at a hospital.  A video recording was made of his lynching which was widely circulated. The local government has urged people to stop circulating images as it could cause further violence. B.D. had joined the Fire Service early 2017. Since then, he had worked diligently to save lives and property from fire. His supervisor said that he was a disciplined firefighter who never shied away from his duty. Over the last 4 years, he had saved lives innumerable times. He was a very decent man who took his job seriously. One of his dreams was to build his own house where he could live together with his wife, daughter and mother. He had just purchased some land nearby so he could realise his dream. A day after he died, the Fire Service Department paid him a tribute and transported his body to his village where aggrieved neighbors and youth tried to stop the procession. Things got violent as protesters broke the windows of the car carrying the body. However, no one was hurt and the body received the last rites. |

Just goes to show that you can be a decent man and still get fucked over by mob "justice". As much as I love watching child fuckers get "le tyre", this type of shit only proves that these people have yet to evolve.

Not a word here about WHY he was targeted. Mob or no mob, there is a reason why victims are selected for punishment, lynching, or whatever. It would be interesting to know what his perceived offense was that warranted this treatment in the minds of those who attacked him. There had to be a reason, regardless of whether or not it was a legitimate one. None of the above is intended as a justification of what happened. The story is incomplete, however, without the background for the attack. The brief reference to a protest against the Bru Resettlement Pact does not provide that background. There is no suggestion that he was a Bru or otherwise involved in the controversial resettlement. So why was he targeted? Even a mob can tell the difference between a fireman and a policeman, one would presume. |
