Firefighter on Bike Fatally Shoots a Man in the Street and Lies About It
A video taken by a security camera in Brazil overturned a firefighter's version that he had shot a man after an attempted robbery. However video shows that at the time of the crime there was no theft/robbery and that the firefighter on a motorcycle on the sidewalk shoots the victim killing him. Injured, the man still tried to flee, crossing the street, but firefighter R. d. S. continued shooting. The victim, still unidentified, fell before reaching the other side of the road and died on the spot. Two military police officers approached the firefighter after witnessing the crime. They said they saw one man lying down in the street and the other with a gun in his hand so they shouted at the firefighter to drop the gun and identified themselves as police. The firefighter, however, did not drop his weapon and, therefore, the PMs fired. The fireman was shot before the policemen approached to disarm the firefighter, who identified himself as a policeman and said that the dead man was a thief. The firefighter was transferred to Hospital. In his bag, the police found a replica of his gun and ammunition. Already in the victim's backpack, nothing illegal was found nor documents that could assist in the identification. The firefighter's gun and replica were seized by the Civil Police. The police weapons were seized by the command of the 32nd Battalion. On Thursday night (3), the fireman was still hospitalized but his arrest was decreed. He will answer for murder in a court of law. |

Re: Firefighter on Bike Fatally Shoots a Man in the Street and Lies About It
I actually GOT some of that commentary. When he freezes the video on the firefighter and announces "Bombero" I knew he was talking about the firefighter. But that's the extent of my Portugese skills. |
