**A nice bit of teamwork here!**

On 23rd July 2018 in Belville, Cape Town, a fire broke out in a flat above a shop.

A 5 year old boy named Nabi Mutoke, burnt to death inside the building.

A mattress from the shop below from where the fire was, was placed on the ground by the owner, to help cushion the fall of the 2 women who jumped from the burning building. One of the women had 60% burns to her body + died in the hospital the next day.

The other woman was taken to the hospital in a stable condition, as was a baby. The baby has been released from hospital. A man, who apparently didn't jump, had injuries to his legs.

Abdul, a café owner nearby, stated that one of the women dropped the baby to be caught below. "The woman was too scared to jump. She only jumped when the flames were on her."

It seems the woman ended up dying as well as a young boy. It happened in Bellville, Western Cape which is in South Africa

CAPE TOWN - A woman who jumped to escape a burning Bellville flat building has died.

This brings to two the number of fatalities as a result of the blaze that broke out on Monday.

Investigators are probing the cause the of the fire.

An eyewitness recounted the frantic scenes that played out while the fire raged through the flat.

"I've never seen a fire like that. There was no help and we tried to bring water but there was no way to get the water [to the fire]. We had to figure out how to help the child."

He says he and other did all they could to rescue those trapped by the blaze. The cause of the fire is still not known.

The 40-year-old woman died overnight from her injuries.

Two women jumped through a living room window to escape the flames.

One woman cushioned a baby to protect the infant from injury as she leaped from the building.

Another man also suffered an injury to his leg

Didn't help that the phone number on the shop is a number in Birmingham!

I used the phone number on the Supa Packaging and it came up with the South African city. Then took it from there having the location always makes things easier

Yep, it did throw me off a bit. Still, I'm now finding articles + photos thanks to you finding the location. I've added a few more photos to my main post + I'll do a little write-up soon.
