I agree they tried hard enough and that probably shouldn't be the main reason for sueing. But the family will more then likely get something for the clearly unsafe walkway and possibly the boat thrusters making him lose grip of the rope. He probably would have gotten up eventually had they not pulled away from the dock.

The crew did everything they could to save him, so I don't know where the 'they just threw a rope' came from. Family just trying to make some money. Can't blame the ferryboat company for this. The man should have paid attention to where he was going.  |

OK, those ridiculous ramps are an accident waiting to happen, so the family might have a case in that regard, but the crew and bystanders did their best to rescue him.
