Female Student Hanged Herself in the Bathroom
India, A female student K.P. (18) committed suicide by hanging herself with a rope in the bathroom out of fear that she would fail her intermediate exams. Her parents were in tears as she hanged herself on her b'day. Their daughter had been feeling anxious for a few days as she did not do well in the exams.

Poor thing  Something tells me that her failing the exam had a lot more riding on her passing it, than one would assume up front. Perhaps "shame" culture? Perhaps, for some reason, she "couldn't" re-sit the exam? I guess we'll never know... |

Maybe parents put too much pressure on their daughter. I have a good friend since I was 9 yrs old, his parents emigrated from India. He is a psychiatrist and his sister is an ob-gyn. Tremendous pressure on him and his sister to do well academically.
