Re: Female Spanish Professor Killed During a Pharmacy Robbery
I'm not sure what sort of law enforcement protocol encourages firing THROUGH civilians (including a small child) to try and shoot a stickup man who hadn't even started firing until he saw the cop drawing a gun. Like I said...Charlie fuckin Bronson. Statistically, in more than 85% of retail holdups, no one gets seriously injured if they keep quiet, keep calm, and let the jerkoff run the show. Worst you'll usually get is a pistol-whip or a kick or two when you're on the floor. Once the robber feels threatened, all bets are off. Sucks to get robbed. But it sure sucks worse to take a shot in the head. |

Re: Female Spanish Professor Killed During a Pharmacy Robbery
The robber got shot and was pushed back, and his shot that was meant for the cop, hit the woman in the head. Her death is on the cop. Can't hold the robber accountable because it's an animal, not human, and animals are not conscious. Should put it to sleep, though, anyway, in a humane manner. Seems rabid. |

Re: Female Spanish Professor Killed During a Pharmacy Robbery
From this video, since the cop appears to be off camera, we really have no idea what happened. She got caught in the crossfire and someone's bullet hit her, very sad, but that's all we know. Since this didn't happen in the USA, we're not likely to know, either. However, if it *had* happened in the USA, it wouldn't matter how negligent or unsound the cop was in the situation, this incident would STILL play out as first-degree homicide against the shitbag in the purple shirt. Bringing a gun to a store to commit an armed robbery is a felony, and when someone dies during the commission of a felony, that invokes the felony-murder rule. A three prong test is applied. Were it not for the robbery, would the woman be dead? No. Therefore shitbag is the "factual" cause. Is it foreseeable that attempting to rob a store might bring about someone's death? Yes. Therefore shitbag is the "proximate" cause. Are there any factors breaking the causal chain? In this case, no, because the even if the cop did -- what was the term? Charlie Bronson? -- Charlie Bronson the place up, he still wouldn't have had to if the shitbag hadn't robbed the store. Therefore, shitbag is guilty of murder. And, assuming Officer Bronson didn't intend for the lady to get in the way of his bullet, he'll walk away and likely be cleared for duty again in a month. Sorry. Bored af. |

Re: Female Spanish Professor Killed During a Pharmacy Robbery
The cop caused her death just by pulling his gun, should have kept quiet until the robber was outside at least.
