Female Pedestrian Killed by Falling Coconut Tree
India, A woman succumbed to head injuries after a coconut tree fell on her in Mumbai. According to police sources, the incident took place on Thursday morning when Kanchan Raghunath, 57 was taking a morning walk in the Swastik Park area. The coconut tree suddenly fell on her, severely injuring her head. Passerbies rushed to help her to a nearby hospital. However, she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday morning.  Her husband, said, "This incident happened because the BMC did not allow the society to cut the tree, despite being informed." The woman was a Yoga instructor. Earlier she was working with Doordarshan ( Doordarshan is an autonomous public service broadcaster founded by the Government of India, which is owned by the Broadcasting Ministry of India ) as an anchor woman. |
