A father and son were shot dead in a fourth-floor hallway of a Brooklyn apartment building Sunday night. The victims were both shot multiple times in the head and torso at around 10:40 p.m. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect took off right after and was seen leaving the area. No arrests had been made early Monday.

Family members identified the victims as 47-year-old B.M. and his 27-year-old son, C.M. According to the family, the shooter, who lived in the apartment below them, had regularly been complaining for the past four years that B.'s younger children were too loud.

The suspected gunman in the shooting death of a father and stepson in a Brooklyn apartment building died after he was shot by police attempting to take him into custody, according to the NYPD.

Officers were trying to arrest Jason Pass, 47, the suspect in Sunday's double murder, when he was shot by police after they alleged he had a knife in his hand, the department said.

Pass was shot four times, three times in the chest and one time in his right leg, according to police. Pass was still alive after the shooting and was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital in Brooklyn, where he later died.
