Father of NHL Star Had Face Mauled Off by Bear In Russian Forest
Tuva, Siberia, Russia A 62-year-old man, Alexander Kuzmenko, was killed when, whilst on a fishing trip with a group of friends near Russia's border with Mongolia, he was attacked by a bear, which mauled his face. Due to the remoteness of the area, the group carried Alexander's body down the river for four hours before an ambulance could locate them. Alexander was airlifted to hospital, where he died the following day. The forested area where the group had been had previously been restricted due to bear activity. Alexander was the father of ice hockey player Andrei Kuzmenko, who recently signed a $5 million contract to join the Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League. Andrei has taken a leave of absence to travel to Moscow. |

Glad to hear they didn’t hunt down the bear to kill it for being one. The positive side of the story. |

It's a good thing they had that bear restriction in place. Somebody could get really hurt otherwise. |
