They’re both terrible scenarios, but I don’t think you can compare them as apples to apples.

You’ll also notice there’s not a lot of that going down here in modern times either (and if it ever does happen the perp basically gets death or life in prison, as they should.)

The "honor death" thing makes me think he's Pakistanian not indian, and is likely more an Islamic thing. Indians usually kill their women just because they're raging at them and not trying to get back "honor" like in that warped culture among the muslims.
