Er.... No! Remember Markeith Demangzlo Loyd? He was beaten and lost an eye after one of the arresting officers kicked him directly in the eye. Loyd is a vicious murderer, yes! But is not the job of the arresting officers to exact any form of "justice". What's the use of a legal system if cops are allowed or tolerated to apply extra-judicial sentences? If so then get rid of the courts and let the cops give out instant sentences on the spot after arresting a criminal. Loyd was sentenced to death, as it should after killing a pregnant mother, her son and daughter and a female police officer, and that was the job of a judge, losing an eye would have never been a sentence given out in any American court, it was a disgrace for the American justice system that the cop who injured the criminal had no consequences, he acted in an unlawful way, as unlawful as Mr. Loyd's actions. |
