Indonesia, Monday morning a fatal accident occurred around 8:30 AM at a busy traffic light intersection near the Islamic University campus.

A truck was traveling at a high speed from the direction of Jakarta toward the intersection and suffered a sudden brake failure.

The traffic light was red for vehicles coming from Jakarta. Because the truck could not stop, it barreled directly into a crowded line of commuters and motorcyclists who were stationary at the intersection, dragging several vehicles across the asphalt.

A mototaxi driver, 42-year-old S, was tragically killed at the scene due to severe head trauma. Between 5 and 9 other riders sustained injuries and were rushed to various nearby medical facilities.

At least 5 to 12 motorcycles suffered severe damage. The truck driver was immediately taken into police custody for formal questioning.

You never know what’s coming or when. I sincerely wonder if the truck driver was blasting his horn or if he just mowed everyone down without warning…
