I think what he means is nitrogen narcosis. If you get too deep nitrogen in your air starts to dissolve into your blood and gets you high. You start to do stupid shit which is possibly why he continued descending. You can get the bends from ascending too quickly but that's a different thing altogether. Still doesn't explain why he got that deep in the first place. He must've had a problem with his weights and/or BCD or something. |

He was a freak. This accident happened in the blue hole in Dahab Egypt. The place is famous for deep diving. Unfortunately, this dude was a freak. He was a quite unexperienced (but certified)diver and he thought he is the best. The convinced a person he never saw before to go to the arch with him. The Arch is a hole in about 55meter depht which is quite tricky to find. At the beginning of the dive his buddy decided to go the safe way but he refused to stay with his buddy. Later on he really got toxicated by the nitrogen in the trimix. Sad but true, this happens to idiots. I go diving in egypt since 8 years and a lot of people full of shit think they can go deep without caution and the right equipment.

blood is not red under water !! blood get dark green after 10 m, because the water filter the light out. watch other dive videos, red is the first color you loost on pictures and videos. sory, my english is bad, but mi diving knowleg is good :) |

What are you on? The guy you quoted didn't say there was blood in this video, but on others, and this video still had an impact. I doubt you'll be able to understand me anyway. |

I am a dive instructor and have pulled 5 bodies off of deep wrecks. 2 of them got nitrogen narcosis and this is what this guy got too. It is like being drunk. You ususally spit out your regulator and drown. One other was lost in a wreck and drown. 1 mixed up his tri mix bottles and was instantly unconcious from breathing the wrong mix at depth and one paniced and dropped his weights at 160 feet and shot to the surface and died on the way up. All of these instances could have been easily avoided by a buddy keeping an eye on them. I always dive with an experienced buddy for this reason. Wen you get nitrogen narcosis, all you have to do is ascend a few feet and it goes away. Usually you can then continue your dive as planned.

the guys name was Yuri, he was divin in this popular dive spot called the blue hole in Egypt. he had on too much equipment or something and couldnt resurface. appearently he didnt go with a partner but was goin down by himself, which was another reason for his troubles
