Family Tries to Approach Man That Was Shot and Killed by Police

Civil Police confirmed that it is investigating the death of a young man identified as J. M. d. S. M, 25 years old, who was shot dead during a police action in Brazil last Wednesday.

A video recorded by family members shows him dead and an injured police officer on the ground. Another policeman, who according to family members would have shot the young man, is standing next to the corpse.

The Civil Police confirmed in a note that the man was killed by a police officer from the corporation during the action in the region.

The victim's mother told that the family was forbidden to approach the young man's body. "There was an armed policeman and the policeman told us to go back, otherwise he was going to shoot us.

All happened when the victim left the house after lunch and ran away after being approached by the police.

The disguised Civilian police car came and they started to hit him and he went down the street from our house and ran. They said 'stop, stop, stop. He started to shake, raised his hands up and the police continued shooting. He ran to not die and ended up dying, a family member told.

"Even if my husband was involved with something, he had no right to die like that. He was shot in the jaw with a rifle. There's a bullet casing. He raised his hand up, looked at my face, I was screaming ' don't shoot him," said the young man's wife.
Relatives of the young man said that the police acted excessively, who would have used rubber bullets to disperse the confusion created after her husband's death.
