It is definitely a variant of the Barrett M82A1 semi-auto .50bmg based on overall design barrel/frame/muzzle break/magazine/charging handle. That gun isn't available in smaller calibers, the dust kicked up suggests it is firing full power .50 rounds and even if the gun were available in .338 nobody would smuggle one into mexico because the ammo isn't available and nobody would buy it. As for the damage the bullets are usually very sturdy and won't fragment inside a person you'll have a .50 hole and plenty of hydrostatic shock causing temporary and permanent wound cavities but not to the level of a gopher or crow hit with faster, smaller caliber frangible bullet that becomes a tiny grenade when it hits flesh. |
