Man, I'm a BJJ guy and even though it's been a goal of mine to go train there,this sort of shit really deters me! A few years ago Shogun Rua(popular mma fighter from brazil) got car jacked and robbed by a group on mopeds. Took his car,cash,even his bloody shirt. If a national celeb gets that sort of treatment WTF lol. I think it's safe if you travel the tourist area's and have a guide or local resident to assist in where to go in Rio, Sau Paulo,Etc. World wide all you hear of is the beaches and beautiful women, on DR all you see is dead folks blown to bits in favella's getting loading into body bins!
