Not an odd word but an old word. In some Latin American countries it carries a legal meaning: "Killing a woman because of her sex." which is a sort of oxymoron, but heck, it is a sign of the times like "gender fluidity", which is as non-sensical as it can get, gender is an exclusively grammatical issue whereas sex is a physiological, biological issue. As an example: A ship has feminine gender in English but it has a masculine gender in Spanish or Russian for example, it doesn't mean the ship changes sex across countries but gender, yet people now believe gender is the same as sex and a man can transform into a woman just by surgical procedure and hormone therapy, all this based on a twisted "understanding of things". Now back to the femicide idiocy: Women in their fight for equality have conquered a law reform that gives harsher penalties to male murderers of females on the grounds of their physical power disadvantage against males. (So it looks women are not equal to men after all! )  They state women are equal to men but use their inequality to "conquer" this ground breaking laws that consider the homicide of a female to be of higher impact than the homicide of a man and deserving of much longer sentences, which makes the life of a man of lesser value than that of a woman's before the law.  |
