My absolute favorite part of the video is when the upset son launches the totally innocent ironing board over the balcony. He must have felt a bit silly when he watched it back.

That pistol was shaped like a .45, but it was a smaller caliber. A .45 would have been louder and would have blown out the other side of his skull. Most likely a .32 cal Llama or Liberty.
