It's known as "Hagwalah" (drifting) in Saudi Arabia. It's very dangerous, especially for the spectators (and is apparently outlawed) who gather around on the roadside instead of in fortified stands or behind safety barriers. Many bring guns & AK-47s to the event and shoot them up into the sky (and accidentally at each other occasionally) as they hoot and holler and their women make that tongue-rolling howler monkey sound. It's a very festive event. And very fun to watch for us westerners as the people in the stands are either made into human bowling pins or the drivers get ejected from their vehicles and tumble & somersault high into the air to come crashing down, spectacularly dissembled into pieces.  |

I just realized that one of the guys hit the ground 5 times as it rolled before he got ejected (out the back, it looks like). I bet he was unrecognizable. Edit: Or maybe he's the guy who lands hard at the end. Freeze frame it right when he lands and the girl moves out of the way. He's only got half a head. |
