Elderly Woman Tries to Cross in Bus's Blind Spot, Gets Run Over
Wenshan, Taipei, Taiwan An 83-year-old woman, Ms Hsu, was killed when she was struck and run over by a bus whilst attempting to cross the road in front of it. Hsu had been riding the bus, driven by 54-year-old Mr Zhou. When the bus stopped at her location, she disembarked and then attempted to cross the road in front of the bus. However, she apparently walked in Zhou's blind spot, and he started the vehicle to leave, running over Hsu, who was pronounced dead at the scene. |

They make that bigass windshield for a reason: so you can observe passengers, other people, & other potential obstacles in front of you. Any bus driver that is so careless that they don't carefully observe people getting off their bus & potentially walking in front of it needs to be punished & removed from their job when they do stupid shit like this. 83-year-olds typically don't have the cognitive capabilities of younger folks & looking out for them & other vulnerable people are an inherent duty for this kind of job. |

You'd think at that age she'd know better. Then again, a lot of elderly people become borderline retarded in later years so she may have only been like this for a short time. |
