Re: Egypt - Guy Jumps Out Of Window As Apartment Is Ablaze
Stupidity. I actually slipped and fell but I was on a pavailion that was overhanging a floating dock at like 2am when I was 18, trying to impress some girls. I jumped up to sit on the railing but didn't know the rail was slick, fell about that far onto a floating concrete platform. I was in the air long enough to think of how you're supposed to land a fall "Do I lock me knees or not lock my knees?", and as the concrete quickly approached, of course my dumb ass panicked and locked my knees at the last second, promptly buckled and collapsed. The adreneline immediately kicked in and I started laughing "uncontrollably" (uncontrollably is misleading), and my friends and the girls came down the ramp and saw me and said "lol you dumbass" and left me. I guess they thought I was joking because of the laughing. Anyways, I ended up having to crawl like 5 blocks in the middle of the night alone back to my car, it didn't take long before I was crying like a baby after maybe 1-2 blocks. I got back to my car, and one of the girls asked me to drive her home. My stupid ass did, and then I drove home and laid on the couch all summer. I never told my parents what I did because it was so stupid, and I had already cost them a ton of money on medical stuff through my teens from other non-stupidity related accidents, so I felt guilty. I basically just stayed on the couch all day, and only got up at night to crawl to the kitchen for food and shit. Cut to today, I'm old and I regret never gettign seen by a doctor about it. I've got tons of back and muscle issues now that have creeped up on me as I've aged. I had foot issues in the military I hid the whole time. At one point I got an X-ray because it hurt for me to stand at attention for long periods in one foot. They asked WTF happened because my foot bones where covered in bone scars I guess. The doctor said it looked like my feet had been shattered. I tried to blame it on boot camp lol. The pain was from a bone fragment that healed into place, pointing out from my heel. I can only imagine what my spine and knees look like under an X-ray, but I've never bothered to get them checked out. I guess I'm still kind of stupid. |

Wow. I was right about the good story! That sounds equally epic and horrifying lol. The crawling around the house to hide the injury over the summer is pretty funny, hopefully you can laugh about it now. Thanks for sharing the story! |

It looks likes he keeps going back to fight the fire (and I don't mean put it out).

Oh yeah, I was stupid fucking idiot (and apparently still am but at least I'm aware of it now), but the older I get, the less funny it becomes as I have to live with the dumb shit I did.
