No better luck for this cyclist who was run over and dragged by a bus for several metres in Guayaquil. Reportedly, the cyclist had stopped to check something on the bike when he was run over. Residents indicated that the man did not live in the area.

I like how they expanded the chalk outline to fit the enlarged area of his head, after it was flattened out somewhat. |

Chalk outlines were used back in the day so that newspapers could accurately depict where a dead body was without actually showing the corpse. However, this is very rarely done anymore in the USA because it might contaminate evidence. However, some countries, such as Thailand, where paramedics/rescuers watch a lot of Western movies and TV shows, sometimes, unironically, still use 'chalk' outlines to this day (and when I say that, they actually seem to use spray paint rather than chalk, like in this instance.) |

Re: Ecuadorian Motorcyclist's Head Was Crushed After Being Run Over by Trailer
I remember seeing chalk outlines from a couple of accidental deaths that occurred back when I was a kid growing up. One was from a man who got his head cracked open. There was a blood trail coming from the head outline. Strange seeing a yellow chalk line with real human blood sticking to the pavement . They’re definitely not a myth. |
