Re: Dylan Noble Shot Dead for Refusing to Comply to Orders.

are you serious? the dude wasn't listening to orders, was blatantly pushing the limits, was told he was going to get shot, reached for something and ran towards them yelling he hates his life, then kept reaching for whatever. he wanted to die.

don't be a fucking idiot.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!! OMG, someone else with common sense in this thread. I can't believe how many people expect cops in these situations to not shoot at someone that continues to provoke an act like they have a weapon, BEFORE AND AFTER, being shot. Even after he was shot he kept intentionally reaching near his belt under his shirt like he had a gun. Like I said before, I don't care if I shot the man 12 times and he's still alive, if he reaches for what appears to be a gun, I'm gonna shoot again. I don't blame cops for not wanting to die because someone else wants to be stupid as fuck.

Re: Dylan Noble Shot Dead for Refusing to Comply to Orders.

Is that really the way you want your country to work? I mean, look, obviously the guy was trying to commit suicide "by cop" in this situation. But if that happened in Canada, I'd be outraged. If my brother was depressed, I'd want the police to try and get him help, I'd be pissed if they just blew him away with a shotgun. I would hope that our police are trained much better than American police. -AND- Thankfully, they ARE.
Same with the rest of the modern world. America is the only country full of pathetic pussy officers that are scared of their own shadow. Any excuse to unload on people. I guess. No wonder the world can't stand America. Any of you progressives down there in USA that want to leave the country, you are welcome to join us in PEACE loving CULTURE mixing Canada!!!
Your brother would be blown away too though if he ACTED LIKE HE HAD A FUCKING GUN OR WEAPON NEAR HIS BELT. Yall are beyond help, I've never in my life seen so much ignorance and lack of common sense.

Re: Dylan Noble Shot Dead for Refusing to Comply to Orders.

He was still quite capable of shooting someone, had he had a gun. But the weirdest part is the getting out, and walking away from the officers. That would scare the shit out of anyone - what the fuck is this guy doing? He's clearly not interested in his own safety.

Re: Dylan Noble Shot Dead for Refusing to Comply to Orders.

After reading the news, I find it rather convenient that people started a "White Lives Matter" thing because the black thing didn't fit correctly as an argument for PUTTING YOUR HANDS IN YOUR PANTS FOR A NERVOUS, GUN-POINTING COP OR THREE.

I just can't understand why people only see what they want to see, not what the video shows. All the latest shootings have people reaching for SOMETHING. If it was you, how long would you wait to see if it was a deck of cards or the end of your life? Such a fucking bummer that we are going so far down this road that even the body cameras aren't going to matter anymore. People will do anything to not admit a mistake or guilt. It's so fucked.

I can't wait to see the shortage of cops we're going to have, and the fallout from that. It's going to be a good time here in America.

A country without police is a criminal paradise. While some are criminal(just like any group) most keep it safe to walk around without fear.

Re: Dylan Noble Shot Dead for Refusing to Comply to Orders.

Alright buddy, you go be a cop in this day an age, and come back in a year an tell me you're not gonna pull your gun out if you feel your life threatened in ANY way. Sometimes, taking out a non lethal weapon first, might be your own life. In almost 90% of these cases, the person didn't do what he was told, acted like he had a weapon, etc. Not saying there aren't some cases where the person didn't deserve to be shot at. But most of the time, the kind of work cops put themselves into, is life threatening. Making judgment calls against your own life is hard. Again, both before and after in this case alone the dude kept reaching near his belt like he had a gun. Fuck, no a days, someone reaching for anywhere could be a remote to detonate a fucking bomb. Give me a break asshole, here's a situation for you.....your getting out of your squad car, approaching a man thats got his hands hidden behind his back. You tell him to show you his hands, he refuses. You pull out your little taser, tell him to show his hands, still refuses. Somehow dude manages to duck real quick, movement makes you fire off taser, which misses. He pulls his hands out to reveal a grenade, or a gun....BOOM your dead. Had your gun out an missed the first shot, you still had another shot. Just saying man, put yourself in a life threatening situation multiple times a week, and you'll pull your gun out first an ask questions after too. An if someone keeps acting like they're gonna pull a weapon also, guaran-fuckin-teed, you wind up shooting them. If someone wants to act stupid with the cops there, I don't blame them for being shot at. It's common sense to me really, which you obviously lack, there's a reason people getting shot have prior criminal records an shit. They obviously don't know how to act in society. If you want to own a gun and act like you're grabbing for it near a cop, you deserve to be shot and never should have had the gun in the first place. Act like a normal decent human being, and when asked to do something by the law, you do it, and you wont get shot at. COMPLY COMPLY COMPLY. Simple as that. So NO, it's people like YOU that give good cops a bad name, because you try to rip them apart for doing their jobs which is to protect shitbags like you by putting their lives on the line.
The problem may be generational. People over a certain age (or who come from a certain type of upbringing) believe that a cop is OWED obedience. Your statement that one must COMPLY COMPLY COMPLY is ridiculous to many people. If a cop asks you to show your hands, then you can do so. But if he points a gun at you and shoots when your hands are out then he's committed a crime. If a cop thinks his life is on the line every single second and that his gun is his only choice to protect himself then he is in the wrong line of work. Cops in other countries don't have these same problems, and people can get guns just as easily. Cops in other countries use different tactics which often work far better than the ones used here. Is it that Americans are just more violent and require more force? I don't believe so. People are people. Cops, bottom line, are improperly trained. But to be fair they also do not have the equipment they require. If bulletproof vests were standard for every cop on the beat then it would reduce stress levels and non-lethal weapons would be the only choice, with guns left as the final last resort as they should be.

Any cop who feels that it's "me against the world" should get out of that line of work. Most people don't want to kill a cop. Most people who commit a crime commit small crimes that only require restraint and tasing, not having their lives extinguished. What about that guy in Miami who had his hands up and told the cop he had no weapon, yet the cop shot him anyway. That's not an isolated story. Cops shoot people who are fleeing (which the Supreme Court ruled illegal). Cops shoot people who have no visible weapon. Cops shoot people who are no threat to others. Cops shoot elderly people in their homes, and disabled people in their wheelchairs. In most of those cases the cop's life was not in danger.

Re: Dylan Noble Shot Dead for Refusing to Comply to Orders.

We generally don't have this problem with paranoid cops in OZ (admittedly - yes - it still occasionally happens).

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it just *might have have something to do with "gun control"... where there are less illegal firearms here than there are people, and pistols and other semi-automatic firearms are outright banned to the general public. Hence, the cops here are nowhere near as paranoid as officers of law in the US, that someone who is not complying could be hiding a firearm.

Please forgive me if my observation has led me to an incorrect hypothesis.

I think a lot of what you say is correct. But in Australia and New Zealand you do have a population of dark-skinned Aboriginals, yes? Do they receive different treatment from cops compared to white-skinned people? There tends to be a great deal of paranoia regarding black people here in the USA. Cops almost always assume that a black person has a gun, and are ready with their gun to shoot to kill. Cops never shoot to immobilize, or shoot a person's hand to prevent them grabbing a gun if they think the person has one. The only shoot to kill, and when they do shoot they shoot several times, and it's quite frequent that if there are two cops together the other will begin shooting as soon as the first one starts shooting. There are many cases when cops have shot and killed someone who simply had thrown rocks at them (certainly not a threat to the cop's life or limb, except for a few bruises and scrapes). There are cops who have killed elderly people in their home when grabbed their cane to balance themselves. There are cops who have killed people in wheelchairs who were virtually immobile, and all while claiming they felt their life was in danger. Such cops are in the wrong line of work if they believe such nonsense.

There are many many cases of innocent people being killed for no good reason, even when the person has complied with the cop's request. Unless and until cops are retrained and informed that guns should be the last resort they will not have the trust of their communities.

The issue of gun control in the USA is a sensitive one for many people. There are debates as to what the Constitution is actually saying. Conservatives believe it is saying that every single person has a right to keep and bear arms, but many Libertarians and Liberals believe that it is saying we have the right to create an active army for protection. If civil war breaks out in the USA it will be incredibly bloody with possibly millions killed because there are hundreds of millions of guns in the hands of the people. It's frightening to me, and if Donald Trump wins the election I'm scare that he will start a nuclear war and civil war will also break out in the USA and the death toll will be catastrophic. People are so scared and don't know what to do. It seems everything is falling apart.
