Colombia. Police officer Juan José Cordero Soto abandoned his assigned security post and went to a liquor store around 3 AM to consume alcohol and join a game of bolinara, a sort of frog game where in this case players toss metal coins into a wooden box with holes and a central frog image and the scored points show electronically.

However the atmosphere shifted during the gathering. After spending time drinking together, a sudden altercation breaks out, leading the cop to walk towards 42 year old Juan C.M.L and draws his official police-issued firearm and shoots him in the chest area.

The victim stumbled a few feet before collapsing to the ground. Paramedics treated the wounded citizen and rushed him via ambulance to a nearby medical center but the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The Metropolitan Police department reacted immediately, arresting the patrolman at the scene. The officer remains in the custody of both the National Police and the Attorney General's Office while criminal and disciplinary investigations proceed.

If he was shot in the heart it stops beating thus very little blood flow. Quite the opposite of a head shot where the brain dies but the heart still beats for a few minutes and blood pours out rapidly.
