Rabat - Moroccan-Dutch football player M.L., who previously played for Dutch club SBV Vitesse, tragically died last week while performing a dangerous cliff stunt in front of his wife and two kids while on holiday on the Spanish island of Majorca.

Unbeknownst to her, L’s wife documented the tragedy in a video clip showing the 31-year-old performing a tombstoning stunt from a 30-meter high cliff with the aim of jumping into the water. He miscalculated the jump and let out a terrifying scream before hitting rocks and crashing into the water.

L’s wife and kids were watching from a boat looking up the cliff from where the late Moroccan footballer jumped. The wife is heard screaming “oh my god” before the footage ends.

Soon after, authorities arrived on the scene and were able to find L’s dead body. Local news outlets reported that police were unable to question his wife as she was still under shock from the loss of her husband.

Autopsy results indicated that L. did not die from impact injuries but drowned in a state of semi-consciousness due to the hit.

Vitesse, the Moroccan’s former club, expressed their condolences to his family and friends. “Vitesse has received the sad news that M.L. has passed away,” the Dutch club said on Twitter.

“L. wore the shirt of Vitesse during the 2010|2011 season, where he was part of the U23 team … In July 2010, the attacker scored in an exhibition game of the first team with VIOS Vaassen,” it added.

Tombstoning, the action of diving into the water from a high jumping platform, is a dangerous stunt that claims the lives of many and causes serious injuries.

Damn. If he last played pro ball in 2011, that means he was dropped at age 20. Tough luck.

4th (and most important) - Snow drops are to slopes not flats.

I loved doing snow but I was in east so it was on ice and no big drops. My favorite was edging half pipes on shorty skis.
