Re: Drunk Truck Driver Runs Over Man
I heard the hiss, too. As a Safety Director in trucking, that hiss is an indication that the brakes are being set, not released. When the brakes are released, you only hear a light hiss inside the truck and from the dashboard area where the brake release valves are located, not outside. I can't really tell if the wheels are rolling or dragging. So who knows? Shrug.

Re: Drunk Truck Driver Runs Over Man
Because most engine wear occurs on startup they never switch off the engines of long-haul trucks until the truck has done a serious amount of miles, usually upwards of 500000. Then the truck is completely refurbished and does another ~300000 before being scrapped.
