A Drug Dealer Found Dead in Pangkalan Brandan

Langkat Police Chief AKBP Doddy Hermawan through the Head of Narcotics AKP M. Yunus Tarigan, when confirmed by reporters on Sunday (14/4/19) confirmed the incident.

He explained, before the Opsnal Unit II personnel of the Langkat Police Rescue Unit got information from the public that at the crime scene exactly in the hall next to the wall of the TO's house that had been targeted and always escaped every active prior arrest on behalf of Liyas being there together with suspects and is conducting a buying and selling transaction of a type of methamphetamine.

Responding to the information, the officers then moved towards the location and upon arrival, personnel saw Liyas (TO) and US sitting while holding a plastic clip which allegedly contained methamphetamine.

Warning shot was fired, and Seeing the arrival of the officers, the two fled and left the evidence above running towards the Babalan river, which was about 5 meters from the second position of the suspect.

"Then the personnel released 3 warning shots to the air so they stopped and gave up," said Kasat. But they instead jumped into the river and tried to cross the river to escape the ambush of the officers.

The clerk then secured the evidence left by the suspect on the floor of their initial position. Then the personnel headed to the bank of the river and appealed to both of them to surrender and return to the riverbank.

Not long after, US suspects surrendered and swam to the edge of the river and were secured by officers, while Ilyas, who was only a month-long player, left the remand center on narcotics, apparently not drowning in the river.

Furthermore, Langkat Police personnel assisted by Pangkalan Brandan Police, Sat Pol Air, and Langkat BPBD, continued to sweep on the banks and currents of the Babalan River to look for victims who had allegedly died inside the river.

"Until finally on Sunday (14/4/19) at around 6:30 a.m., Ilyas alias Li (35) a resident of Sei Bilah Sub-District, Sei Lepan Subdistrict, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra, who plunged into the Babalan River in Pangkalan Brandan, was found dead," he said .
