Drowned Woman Pulled Ashore
Last Tuesday the clothed body of a drowned woman was found in a lake on Sumatra, Indonesia, around 9 in the morning. She was wearing a gray hijab, a cream sweater, a long dark skirt, and socks. Officers also found glasses and a motorcycle key in her hands. Police identification results state that the victim is named D. S. (27). She was a student at a university in Pekanbaru City where she also resided. Police Chief said a medical examination showed no signs of violence on the victim's body. Police strongly suspect the victim took her own life. The preliminary suspicion is that the victim committed suicide due to previous family problems and mental stress. Not far from where the body was found, officers found a black Honda motorcycle, believed to belong to the victim. Inside the trunk, they found several personal items, including clothing, medical gloves, and several packages of personal protective equipment. According to the victim's boyfriend, she arrived on Monday to meet him in Bukittinggi. After chatting, the victim said goodbye to visit her grandmother, who lives near the Lake. Before leaving, the victim left her bag and cellphone with heer girlfriend, then left alone on her motorbike. Since then, the victim did not give any more news until she was finally found dead the next day. The police are still conducting further investigations to determine the exact cause of the victim's death and are gathering information from the family and related witnesses. |
