judging by the setup, a well-to-do neighbor installed a submersible pump as their water supply from that well. thus the pipes going up and the wires going down. if not maintained regularly, current leak out of the electric motor is bound to happen during operation. so even if you are 100% sure, it is still not advisable to swim in water with an electric pump submerged.

The kind of shit you see even in 2nd world countries can be straight up insane from our first world perspectives. I can still remember being horrified while visiting an indoor swimming pool and wellness thing. After I was finished and went to take a shower, I noticed that the lightbulb hanging a mere 10 cm above the shower head was not even earthed, carrying fatal mains electricity. Shit like that could never ever happen in the West, any commercial or public place like that wouldn't even have made it to their opening day before already being shut down by the authorities. But there, that's just part of life. And Taiwan isn't even such a shitty country, so just imagine what true and utter shitholes like Africa or South Asia are like....

All your tall claims are right but then Covid happened and it exposed the heath care of the Western world , look at the body counts per capita of India and China and Compare it with Western world and you ll have your answer.
