         There's also the following video doing the rounds, claiming to be the culprit. Firstly, he doesn't look anything like the bloke in the ID above, nor does the car have the same damage as in the photo above.

Carmageddon might have been inspired by the 1975 movie Deathrace 2000. Here are some highlights, some good parts are "Euthanasia Day" at the hospital, the driver swerves to avoid the old people placed by the medical staff and runs over the doctors and nurses instead, and when a driver runs over his own pit crew for extra points.
